Shiriba

Situated in the Central Drakensberg World Heritage zone, Shiriba Farm is a 100 acre property nestled in the heart of the Champagne Valley.

It's a dream in the making. Three years ago we decided to downscale and move to the country to live a simpler life. Being eco-friendly and self sufficient is our primary objective. In this time we've rebuilt the flailing dam which has now become a little eco-system of its own. In addition most of the materials from the land have produced a rustic campsite, a humble homestead and quaint cottage.

In the process, large areas of alien invaders, such as bugweed and wattle has been removed. We now have a small but competent farm yard and a luscious (chemical free) vegetable patch under development.

It's an oasis of serenity with plenty to do in the surrounds. Here at our self catering cottage you could enjoy your own splash pool, walks, canoeing, bird-watching or fishing for trout or bass on the large dam (B.Y.O. rod). Alternatively you may wish to explore the arts and crafts centres or one of the many activities available here in the neighbourhood.
